Money Skills for Life: Financial Literacy at Monarch

Many adults say the same thing: "I wish someone had taught me about money when I was young." At Monarch Education System, we make sure our children do not have to say that. Financial literacy is part of how we prepare them for real life.

Learning with a money map

In class, children build their own "money map" with four simple parts: earning, saving, spending and giving. They sort real and pretend notes and coins, talk about needs and wants, and see how small choices add up. Learning by doing makes these ideas clear and easy to remember.

Saving together

A class savings jar shows children how small amounts grow over time. They count coins, keep a simple record and set a goal together. Patience, planning and teamwork are learned without a single lecture.

A first budget

Older children use a calculator and a simple budget sheet on the computer to plan how money is earned and used. They learn to add up costs, compare prices and make a plan, practical maths that they can use at home and later in life.

Money with values

Our lessons connect naturally with Islamic values. Children learn that money should be earned honestly, that waste is not good, and that giving to others, through sadaqah and helping those in need, is part of a good life. We want children who are not only careful with money, but generous and fair as well.

Why start early

Habits formed in childhood last. A child who learns to save, plan and share from a young age grows into an adult who makes calm, sensible decisions, and is less likely to fall into debt or waste.

Education beyond books

Financial literacy sits alongside strong academics, AI and technology, Quran education and life skills at Monarch. Together, they help us raise children who are confident, capable and ready for life. That is what we mean by a school for life.
